This triptych follows the journey of a White Scabiosa (Scabiosa atropurpurea) as it moves through her natural cycle. It begins with the bud stage, a moment of energy gathering. Often overlooked, the bud reveals a mesmerizing geometric structure that holds its own subtle beauty. This is followed by a pure white bloom, the favourite stage of the bees on the farm. The journey concludes with an uncommon seed head, full of soon-to-mature seeds, each marked by a five-pointed star – adding to the geometrical nature of the plant.
Together, these three works reveal the hidden beauty found in unexpected places and, as a collection, evoke a soft and contemplative energy.
Each photograph is composed from a stack of many individual frames combined into a single detailed image: "The Bud" from 90 photos, "The Bloom" from 69 photos, and "The Bounty" from 79 photos. In total, this triptych is built from 238 images captured throughout the 2025 farming season.
I hope you enjoy the result of this work as much as I do.
Please note: This piece is available either as a pre-designed triptych with botanical borders or as individual prints (with or without botanical borders). If you prefer to assemble your own triptych at home using the three stages of the plant, I recommend selecting the individual prints and framing them to suit your own vision and taste.
