Marigold Dreams - Fine Art Print
This photo depicts a sleeping bee inside a Yellow Aztec Marigold (Tagetes erecta). During one of my evening walks around our farm, I noticed this bee peacefully sleeping right at the heart of a marigold flower. On the spot, I knew I had a special photo in front of my eyes. I ran to pick up my camera and tripod, unfortunately forgetting the lighting equipment in the rush. This photo is made of a stack of 124 macro images, a greatly challenging accomplishment as these photos were taken straight in the field (not a studio) during sunset with no auxiliary lights.
The image is titled “Marigold Dreams”, in an attempt to evoke what it must feel like to sleep inside a marigold flower. Wouldn’t it be nice?
