Ancient Wings - Fine Art Print
This photograph depicts the seed head of an ancient grain known as Ethiopian Blue Tinge Wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. dicoccum). The image is composed of a stack of 50 macro photographs, merged to reveal exceptional detail.
By inverting the seed head, the photograph adopts an unconventional perspective, evoking the image of a blue phoenix with golden wings ascending into the sky. This work reflects a core belief of mine: that ancient crops, deeply rooted in our shared history, have yet to assume their rightful role in our future. May these plants help lift us back toward holistic health - health that nourishes not only us, through wholesome foods, but also the land itself, through a return to traditional agricultural practices that support a living, resilient planet.
